Violet Craft Class in Pictures

Last weekend the South Sound Modern Quilt Guild hosted "The Broken Herringbone" class with creator and fabric designer, Violet Craft.

Set up.  Violet had a genius display idea for her 2 quilts.

Potluck style lunch.

Hands on help laying out the quilt pattern

Good students paying attention.

Taking shape

More sewing

Very precise marking and cutting

Three large tables still weren't enough when we all needed them at the same time.

At the end of class Violet shared some of her other creations, classes she offers and told us all the backstory behind her soon-to-be release new fabric line.

She uses her fabric line to back her quilts and leave a selvage on as her signature.

It was so fun to spend the day sewing with our guild friends.

March 2015 Meeting in Pictures

Were you able to make it to our March meeting?  For those of you who weren't, here is a recap in pictures.  Several members created charity blocks this month. If you weren't able to bring your blocks to this month's meeting, please bring them to our April meeting.

In April we are switching our charity blocks up slightly and making pillowcases instead.  Make as many as you want, in any color or pattern you desire.

If you would like to learn how to make a pillowcase, we have some links for you to check out.   Please leave a comment below if you have any other websites to share on pillowcase patterns or tutorials.

The broken herringbone class taught by Violet Craft was discussed.  Be watching for another blog post about that class soon.

Show and Share is always a highlight of our meetings.  Check out some of the loveliness that was shared this month.

Our next meeting is scheduled for April 1st and the member spotlight is going to be:
