There were sign-ups available for our 2016 committees.   Each committee has a volunteer head.  Thank you everyone for signing up for at least one committee.  If you have not yet signed up for a committee and would like to, be sure to let a board member know.  Together we make the guild stronger.

We discussed goals and plans for the year to come.  There are lots of exciting things coming in 2016, including:
  • Swaps
  • Book Reviews
  • Classes
  • Charity Projects
  • Sew-Ins
  • Demos
  • Much More
As usual we had a fun show-n-share. More pictures can be found on our Facebook page.

Double Slice Red Charity Quilt

To finish off our meeting me had to helpful demos.  Cecile showed us tips for adding a binding to your quilt without the tears of frustration.  Melissa showed us how to create a mitered binding with a little math help from Craftsy.

It's going to be a fabulous year because you are a part of this guild.  Thank you once again to our outgoing and incoming board for keeping us going strong.

Sew In Today & Bricks Swap

Just a quick reminder that the Sew-In is today at Ruby Street from 10am - 5pm.   Come in to sew for awhile or just drop by to say hi to fellow guild mates and possibly pick up your fabric for the bricks swap.

Speaking of our "Bricks Swap"...

If you signed up for this swap you need to make 21 sets of bricks.  You should be able to get approximately 28 bricks from one yard of fabric.  Make sure your print is modern and your solid is not black nor white.   Here are more deets for you.

  • Each Brick is 5" x 10"
  • 21 Bricks cut from modern print
  • Use the same print fabric for all your bricks
  • 21 Bricks in coordinating solid fabric
  • Use the same print fabric for all your bricks
  • 42 Bricks total
  • Put bricks in a ziplock baggy with your name on it
