April Meeting Notes & News

This weekend several of our guild members will be going on a retreat.  Those of us who aren't able to attend are looking forward to seeing pictures and hearing all about it!

At our April meeting guild members were the spotlight showcase as they showed off their completed (or almost completed) masterpieces for Arts Walk.  Pictures are up on our Facebook page, or you can clicky to see them all on display at Canvas Works last weekend.

Sew-In Retreat is coming up this weekend.  Have fun ladies!  We are looking forward to hearing all about it and seeing your pictures.

We had a raffle drawing and then Cecile had a quilt as you go tote bag tutorial to inspire all of us making tote bags for our scrappy tote swap.

Arts Walk Displays

Hopefully you were able to make it to Canvas Works this past weekend to see the South Sound Modern Quilt Guild's Improv Challenge quilt display for Arts Walk 2016.  Just in case you couldn't make it in, we took some pictures for you!


Challenge Fabric Display & Guild Info.
Quilts hung from the loft

Read captions for challenge guidelines:
Must include at least one of the challenge fabrics
Can use any other additional fabrics you choose

Must include improv piecing

Minimum of 20" x 20"
Can be as large as you want it to be

Any shape
Must be modern

Must be quilted

Just a quick reminder for our sew-in.   Whether you have your own project to work on, need to finish your arts walk quilt, want to get caught up on our Patchwork City QAL, make a banner block for our guild banner, or just hang out with your fellow guildies, we will be there.   If you don't have time to stay, you can still drop by to say hi and do a little shopping.

Banner Block

Please make a block for our Guild Banner.
Measurements: min 2", max 6"..square or rectangle.
Colors: colors from our Logo, found on the blog, and any gray and/or white.
We will be "floating" these blocks on white, so please keep that in mind.
