April's Polaroid Block Swap

For those of you who missed March’s meeting, our next swap is called the Polaroid Block Swap! You may have noticed these cute blocks on social media, but they are small, fussy cut blocks that are framed in white to look like a Polaroid. If you want to participate, all you have to do is to make 10 fussy cut Polaroid blocks and bring them to the April Meeting. They are super quick and easy to make, and a great way to search through your fabric and scraps for cute things to fussy cut! Look for things like animals, flowers, objects, etc. and try to use different fabrics or different parts of a same fabric so that you have ten different blocks. Although you can easily make them without, I made my own fussy cut template out of template plastic and tape, to make fussy cutting much easier. I also know you can buy pre-made fussy cut templates. Anyway, a pdf of the instructions of two different ways to make the blocks are posted on Facebook. They really are a super quick project! We will be swapping them at the April meeting.

Also, if you want to participate in the April swap, I am asking you to bring fabric (a fat quarter and up to a half yard) of your own fabric or a bag of scraps (please only larger scraps as the items may not use small size scraps). This swap will be for your sewing room (a useful sewing room item, so not a mini quilt or anything), so choose fabric you want to look at daily in your creative space! This will help your swap partner with color and fabric inspiration, and they will supplement as they see fit. I will give more details at the April meeting, so please just bring your fabric if you want to participate. Let me know if you have any questions!
